After the Earth & Environment course in BU's College of Arts & Sciences became a mandatory part of a multidisciplinary program, students came to the course with diverse backgrounds. This posed significant teaching challenges for physics professor Bruce Anderson. He turned to BU's Center for Teaching & Learning and Education Technology groups for help in flipping the classroom using online video lectures and exercises followed by in-class review lectures and new activities to keep all students learning effectively.
